First Impressions

Juliet Capulet enters with a strong "How now, who calls," (1.3.5). Although we don't hear much from Juliet until line 63, we hear from her Nurse how lovely of a child she is and how long she's been cared for by the Nurse. Based on her reactions to Juliet growing up, they must have had a very good relationship with one another. However, when the notion of marriage comes up, Juliet expresses her feelings of ho
w she hasn't really thought of it. This shows that young Juliet, who is almost 14 which is a prime time to marry, is more of a free spirit. However, Juliet is also obedient and understands that there are boundaries she must comply with. So when her mother asks "Can you like of Paris' love?" Juliet agrees to try.

Juliet is introduced not meeting romeo as I had first thought, but as simply the daughter of Capulet. This establishes her as her own character. Romeo and Juliet are less a single entity than two separate people with their own ideas and opinions. This separation leads to a fatal mis-communication at the end of the book

"Ill look to like, if looking liking move. But no more deep will I endart mine eye Than your consent gives strength to make it fly" (1.4.103-105)

"Then have my lips the sin that they have took" (1.5.119)

"My only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me.That I must love a loathed enemy" (1.5.152-155)

"My only love sprung from my only hate" (1.5.152)
The only person I love is from the only ones I hate
She fell in love with Romeo a Montague
"Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed. If that thy bent of loved be honorable, Thy purpose marriage send me word tomorrow, By one that I'll procure to come of thee, Where and what time thou wilt perform the rite, And all my fortunes as thy foot I'll lay And follow thee my lord throughout the world" (2.2.149-155)
I love you dear Romeo. Goodnight. If the intention of your love is to be honorable. If you purpose marriage send me the word tomorrow. By then I'll want to be with you Where and what time shall we marry? Then I'll lay with you as my fortune and love and follow you as my lord
Juliet loves Romeo dearly and clearly wants to marry him.

Blistered be thy tongue for such a wish! He was
not born to shame.Upon his brow shame is
ashamed to sit, For 'tis a throne where honor
be crowned sole monarch of the universal earth.
O, what a beast was I to chide him! (3.2. 99-104)
You should be ashamed for wishing that!
He should not be shamed. Shame is
embarrassed to sit on his head, for it is
where honor is crowned king of the world.
How awful I am to criticize him.
Juliet regrets being
angry at romeo
and slandering
his name

Ancient damnation, O most wicked fiend! Is it
more sin to wish me thus forsworn Or to dispraise
my lord with that same tongue which she hath
praised him with above compare So many
thousand times?go, counselor. thou and my
bosom henceforth shall be twain. I'll to the friar to
know his remedy. If all else fail, myself have power
to die. (3.5.48-55)
Damn, what a terrible thing. Is it worse that she
want's me married again, or that she disrespects
my husband with the same tongue that praised him
above all others. go, counselor. I will no longer share
my secrets with you. I'll go to the friar to see how he
would sole this problem. If all else fails, i will kill myself
Juliet is angry at nurse because she both
wants her to marry Paris and that she
disrespects romeo. She resolves to no longer
share her secrets with nurse, and leaves
to talk to friar Lawrence for a solution. If he
cannot solve her problem, she will kill herself

O, break my heart ! poor bankrupt break at once! to prison, eyes ne'er ; looked on liberty! Vile to earth resign; end motion here; and thou and romeo press on heavy bier! (3.2.79-82)
O,break my heart poor heart just break now a persons eyes who is in prison has never looked so hard on liberty had never looked so hard on liberty horrible earth please just stop moving so fast and end all life so romeo and i lay dead.
Juliet is just showing how she is jumping to conclusions, and that she is really worried about her husband Romeo. this shows how she is impatient and when she jumps to conclusions she jumps to them. She is yet again showing that she would rather die then to live a life without Romeo.

"Shall i speak ill of him that is my husband? Ah poor my lord what tongue shall smooth thy name when i thy three hours wife have mangled it? but wherefore villain didst thou kill my cousin? That villain cousin would have kill'd my husband: back foolish tears back to your native spring your tributary drops belong to woe which you mistaking offer up to joy My husband lives that Tybalt's would have slain and Tybalt's dead that would have slain my husband." (3.2.121-151)
Should I speak ill of my husband?oh poor me please my lord with what tongue shall I speak of my husband when I have been his wife for three hours. But why did he kill my cousin? but then again my cousin would have killed my husband. Tears come back to my eyeballs where you came from and instead cry tears of joy since my husband is alive and my cousin who would have killed him is now dead.
Juliet yet again is jumping to conclusions and she is taking everything or thinking to fast and irrationally in the whole book she is just moving and doing everything really fast without thinking. she was first mad at Romeo for killing her cousin but then after she thought about it well she realized with a little thought that her vary same cousin would have killer her love of her life, and then takes back everything she says.
My ears have not yet drunk a hundred words
Of that tongue's utterance, yet I know the sound:
Art thou not Romeo and a Montague?
I haven't heard him say a hundred words
But I know the sound of his voice:
Are you Romeo of the Montague Family?
Juliet has just been surprised by Romeo in the garden, and she thinks he's a random boy come to spy on her. When he speaks again she realizes by his voice that it is really Romeo.

Final Assignment

I saw him once

Then he was gone
We were like dreamers at night
Who meet as in a trance, then part again!
Two phantoms in the shadows of the moon
Can people really fall in love so soon?
He walked alone
He seemed alone like me
Could he have known
That moment was my destiny?
I had to run away, and it was like a dream

I saw him once
The dream was true

I saw him once,And once will do!
